Privacy Policy

The short version
GetMocked is a tool for generating mock API backends. You give us fake data descriptions, we give you fake API responses. We collect the bare minimum to run the service — your account info and the mock schemas you create. That's about it.
Who we are
GetMocked is operated by Gigabuddy Operations Pty Ltd, based in Victoria, Australia. When we say “we”, “us”, or “our”, we mean Gigabuddy Operations Pty Ltd. This policy complies with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
What we collect
Account information
When you sign up, we collect your name, email address, and profile picture via Google, GitHub, or email/password authentication. We use Firebase Authentication to handle this — we don't store your passwords directly.
Mock API data
The schemas, descriptions, and configurations you create for your mock APIs. This is the stuff you're here for. It should be mock data — please don't put real sensitive data in here.
Usage data
Basic analytics like page views and API request counts so we can keep the service running and know what's working. We use standard Google Cloud logging.
Payment information
If you're on a paid plan, Stripe handles your payment details. We never see or store your full card number.
What we don't collect
We don't track you across the web. We don't sell your data. We don't run creepy ad pixels. We don't read your mock schemas for marketing purposes. The data you create on GetMocked is yours.
How we use your data
- To provide and maintain the GetMocked service
- To authenticate you when you log in
- To generate mock API responses from your schemas
- To process payments (if on a paid plan)
- To send you important service updates (sparingly, we promise)
- To improve the service based on aggregate usage patterns
Third-party services
We use a small number of trusted providers:
- Google Cloud Platform — hosting, database, and infrastructure (data stored in Google Cloud)
- Firebase — authentication and data storage
- Stripe — payment processing
- Anthropic — AI-powered schema generation (your schema descriptions are sent to generate mock data structures)
These providers have their own privacy policies and are all reputable companies with strong data protection practices.
Data storage and security
Your data is stored on Google Cloud infrastructure. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. We follow reasonable security practices to protect your account and data.
That said — this is a service for mock data. Please don't store real personal information, credentials, or sensitive data in your mock API schemas. Treat it like what it is: a tool for faking backends during development.
Data retention
We keep your account and mock API data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we'll delete your data within a reasonable timeframe. If you delete a mock API, it's gone.
Your rights
Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your account and data
- Complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) if you think we've mishandled your data
To exercise any of these rights, just email us. We're not a giant corporation — you'll get a real human response.
Overseas disclosure
While we operate from Australia, your data is processed through Google Cloud and other third-party services that may store data in various locations globally. These providers maintain strong data protection standards.
Cookies
We use essential cookies for authentication and keeping you logged in. No tracking cookies, no cookie banners, no nonsense.
Changes to this policy
If we make significant changes, we'll update this page and the “last updated” date. For major changes, we'll email you.
